He is a Zollgrenzschutz officer in charge at the German/Swiss border. He asks to check the papers of an injured SS officer who can't speak and wants to cross the border. Not knowing the officer is really an American spy pretending not to be able to speak, to cover the fact that he can't speak German. The border Commandant is shot along with two of his guards by the American spy.
